Dew point
Dew point(td)
The dew point temperature td is the temperature at which the air above a water surface is saturated with water vapour at a constant air pressure p.
At this point, the prevailing water vapour saturation pressure e(t) corresponds to the water vapour saturation pressure ew(td).
[DIN 50010 Part 2]
Frost point temperature(tf)
This is the temperature at which the air above an ice surface is saturated with water vapour at a constant aire pressure p.
At this point, the prevailing water vapour pressure e(t) corresponds to the water vapour saturation pressure ei(tf).
[DIN 50010 Part 2]
Dew point detection
The dew point is detected with the help of so-called dew-mirror hygrometers. These measuring devices use an optical system for detecting the dew point. The temperature is determined with the help of a resistance thermometer (Pt100). Achievable accuracies approx. ±0,1K.
